Thanks to Jolly J for letting me experiment with my makeup application skills this past Saturday. I am still trying to develop my skills as a makeup artist, so that means practicing on other people. If anyone in the SF Bay Area needs a makeup artist; contact me!
Jolly J doesn't wear a ton of makeup - she doesn't need it - so I knew this look had to be kind of subtle. We were also just going to lunch, so nothing over the top. I was inspired by the color of her shirt, a coral color, so I pulled out this MAC palette from the Fafi rlease last year.

My favorite part of the makeover was Jolly J's amazement at her lashes. She discovered that they were in fact, much longer than she realized. With some curling and Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara, Jolly J exclaimed "I can see my lashes!" when she blinked. Love it!
Here's a small reminder of her naked lashess

A rundown on the products I used:
Eyes: UDPP; MAC Paint Pot: Groundwork; MAC Fafi Eyes 2; MAC Star Violet; MAC Eyeliner: Feline, Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara
Face: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, Laura Mercier Face Powder, Nars Blush: Sin
Lips: Nars Dolce Vita

Isn't she lovely?

Hello readers, hope you had a good weekend! I was planning post my look for my company's holiday party, but wouldn't ya know it, I forgot to take a picture! I remember what I used though, so I'm going to try to recreate it at some point to share with you, since I think it turned out well.
Since I don't have that though, I do have this special look. My friend (we'll call her C.C.) had an event to go to, so I volunteered to do her makeup. C.C. doesn't wear a ton of makeup (cuz she's so cute usually), so this is smokey eye look was a bit shocking to her, even if I think I would wear it more dramatically. Thanks C.C., for being such a trooper!
I used this Stila "Gray Look" palette. I believe it's a palette from Costco, that came with a two brushes and a mascara for under $20. What a deal! Blended with a little Smoke and Diamonds created a lovely, soft smokey eye. To take my own advice, with a smokey eye, I used a more neutral lip.

Here are the products I used:
Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Stila Gray Look Palette, MAC Eyeshadow in Smoke and Diamonds, Lancome Oscillation Mascara, MAC Eyeliner in Feline
Face: Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation in Medium Beige, MAC Beauty Powder Blush in Enough Said
Lips: MAC Lipglass in Soft & Slow

My favorite shot - you look fabulous C.C.!
